A couple of new things

Picked up a couple more items at the Sally Anne this week. A couple of bent ply side tables and a 6'x9' kilim.

Dining Chairs

I've mentioned some Danish dining chairs that I'm working on, and shown them stacked in the corner. I've got a couple of them more or less done. I haven't done anything major to them; a simple refinish with Danish oil and some new upholstery in herringbone denim. Here's the first of the four.

I started sanding and refinishing an armchair and so these ones have been put on the back burner for a few days.

Fall

We're having perfect fall weather this weekend, bright, crisp, and fresh. I always feel the urgency of this kind of day. I need to get out and take advantage while I can. The rain will be here soon. I rode down to the park yesterday and spent the afternoon reading in the trees. 

 This handsome fellow, a Pileated Woodpecker, showed up to keep me company. He was flying about near me drumming and calling.

Yard Sale

Stopped by a yard sale today and made out like a bandit. These are the things I got.

I won't even say how little it all cost.

Salvation Army

I go to the Salvation Army a lot, and almost always leave with something. This week I didn't get anything, so these are last week's purchases. There are also a few bits I got elsewhere.

Some herringbone denim for the Danish dining chairs, cedar incense, Mission Furniture How to Make it- Part 2, Towards a New Architecture, The Book of Shaker Furniture, and Maigret at the Crossroads.

Guzzini breakfast tray in box, a couple of Italian jars, hundreds of blue paper tags, and vintage Missoni frames.

Thanksgiving

We had a thanksgiving dinner on Sunday night. It's always pleasant to have a nice dinner with good friends. We ate well, drank nice wine, and enjoyed sparkling conversation.

What do you do if you have too many chairs?

Stack them in the corner. At least that's what I do. I'm working on this set of Danish dining chairs, so no one will be sitting on them for Thanksgiving tomorrow.
